lol all those bands have been done all to death by kids nowadays, learn some Death and do something new, im pretty sure those bands wouldnt exist if they were influenced in some way by chuck schuldiner/death ...

maybe not directly, but sure i can agree to some influence there. but no, they haven't been all done to death. maybe -4 poeple in north american can play what WTR does

Within the Ruins also tunes to G# which is not fucking cool, to tune to (that sounds redundant) .

My friend casey, and matt, got their guitars tuned to Low E. That's just like, dumb.

Learn some Symphony X followed by an extreme dose of Necrophagist, then cool it down with something chill.

I've also been doing some cool little riffs here and there. Probably could turn them into musics.

FURTHERMORE,

i'm 37094830924% sure that death has been done WAY more times than anything i listed. millions of times more, so your logic on doing something "new" fails hard budday.

you owe me and every metal head an apology.

The Return Of The Living Death Metal

« Reply #46 on: June 08, 2010, 06:59:32 PM »

I meant something completely new outside of Death, after the fact, something completely new instead of old school death metal, prog death, melodeath, whatever bands you listed as "death metal" and mix it up, to create something fresh ... so no I wont apologize if I'm trying to instill creativity in someone ...

im going out for a couple hours so i wont be back in awhile

... and yes Death has been done a trillion times over to no end

« Reply #50 on: June 08, 2010, 11:06:07 PM »

no no not a brennsy!!

hahahaha sorry i was on my way out, wasn't really thinking, you guys go ahead and jam the new metalcore/death metal, whatever works for you, to each his own

I, on the other hand will continue learning old school death metal, along with that, freshen things up with something original, but i like to keep it old school as much as possible, and i would like to add Cynic's Focus is still newer and forward thinking than whatever is coming out these days : )

if you are only influenced by all these new bands and that is all your listening to, then you wont come up with anything original, that is all

Yeah cause all the old school bands did stuff like Within the Ruins or All Shall Perish do and there`s nothing  original there.

yeah, sorry man, still don't follow your logic there. protest, within the ruins, i am abomination, and whatever else i listed is all VERY unique stuff.

i'm extremely snobby with what i listen to, if its not original sounding or if the musicians are subpar, i don't bother with it.

I listen to alot of that style of that music, and I agree, tuning that low is dumb.

Except most of that tune stays at C and above. If you want to talk about clarity possible with G# tunings, listen to Periphery.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8gy25McxkEI&feature=related

Although they are one of a select few that can pull of the ultra tight playing needed to have ANY clarity when tuning that low.

You mean Bulb is one of the select few. And they rock 7 strings so drop G# isn`t quite as ridiculous with them.
