swing their arms like they are having a seizure...

Kinda like Moneen fans? Why can't they just sit down?

Also, amazingly, Metal and Hardcore, from a musical standpoint, differ in marginal ways only. Cuz, Hatebreed has blastbeats. And Slayer is essentially fast enough to be Hardcore... And what about crossover, ie Metallic Hardcore? Deathcore? Everything can be "core" if you so choose to name it that way.  Including Albacore.

No dammit, Albacore is here to enrich our knowledge of the sea through their hardcore musics.

Also has nothing to do with Crabcore, or any other genre du jour.

for some reason anything that has breakdowns in it is labelled "core', but hardcore originally didnt have breakdowns, they didnt come along until thrash.

and where the fuck does grindcore fit into this all?

I think deathcore is influenced by grindcore. With the whole blasts and stuff.

Hardcore and  Metal are equal imo.

Fuck. Bands like Ceremony and Shipwreck A.D. are heavier than most common metal these days, and they're hardcore at it's finest.

Also, IMO. Bands like Hatebreed, Throwdown, Bane, and the like can get fucked.

Well we have that too. But the promoter here brings through actual Hardcore bands. If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't pretty much wouldn't have gotten into hardcore at all. We have no local hardcore bands. Not yet. I've heard of a few starting up, but none playing shows. But Shawn bring in genuine hardcore bands from all over north america, and apparently next year he's got bands from europe too. Like seriously, the hardcore scene here is fuckin great, and it just keeps growin.

Yeah pretty much. If we had an actual full time metal promoter who did all ages shows it'd be alot better. The scene would grow immensely, with young kiddies like me going and all. I heard of one guy who puts on shows, but he doesn't do very many, and the rest are put on by the bars, or people who do it like 3 or 4 times a year. If I had the cash and was older, I would definitely do that shit.

Shows could happen anywhere dude. Just because it doesn't seem suitable as a venue, doesn't mean it can't be one anyways. My example: Cosmo Senior Center. When I went to my first show there, I was all like "wtf, senior center?", but it's really a great place for shows. And the guy who puts on the shows at the CSC has bought, or is buying the old bassment, and maybe he'll rent it out or something. There's probably loads of places for shows, you just gotta expand upon bars etc. Or you could go old school, and do the church basement thing lol. I dunno, I just wish we had more all ages metal here.

If you're using the house PA, then hell naw.
But this guy Andy has improved his system a whole shitload since I started going to shows there.
It really depends who the sound guy is.
When was the last time you saw a show there?

There are good metal bands and there are bad metal bands.
