Danny, Bower and myself are supposed to jam so I'll offer our band to the benefit too Wink

are we going into the 3rd year of me harrassing you to jam? haha

And ya, hell of an idea. Once we write our rock opus we could unleash it upon this benefit.

I would gladly support this in any way I can.  I can't offer any musical ability other than farting on a snare drum, but if there's any other way I can help I'm in.

I know first hand from the work I do and from personal family experience that costs can add up very quickly when you factor in all the 'small' things mentioned above (parking, families time off work) that most people don't consider when someone is seriously ill and not being able to emotionally support a family member as much as you want to becuase you have to work just to pay the extra bills is a shitty situation, so I'm totally game for helping out with something like this.

Me and Ted were talking about this last night, and I raised the point of donating to a local family.  But then, out of all the families, how would a person decide who gets the donations?

What about donating to a Regina hospital, rotating through different wards to donate to for them to buy new equipment or something? That way, it still helps out local people, and instead of helping out just one or two families as a one time donation, more people can benefit again and again, over a longer period of time.  Just a thought there...

Or, could it be set up as a fund, where instead of doing it all for one family and giving them the money when the show is done, have someone in charge of taking requests for donations.  using the ambulance example... so, if someone had to go in an ambulance, and the family couldn't afford to pay for it, they could come and have the bill paid for them.

I too like the idea of helping as many families as possible all at once, but taking into account of what Lisa mentioned, costs are much much more than just an ambulance. There is medications, therapies (chiropractor, accupuncture, massage, etc.), parking, time off work and so much more. The details of who it helps aren't really important right now, but the idea is wonderful.

What a legacy...Dave has already touched the lives and has given so much to all of us already, that it only makes sense to do this. Now together Dave, Danny and the rest of the Stephensons will be touching the lives and helping out other families and individuals who are going through what they've been though.

Lisa...not only Dave, but now the rest of the Stephenson family really is "paying it forward". You guys are an astounding family!

I just thought that I would give everyone a quick update on Dan, we have been at the hospital so much that I don't have the time to send out individual E-Mails...As of today he is very drowsy and not awake alot....the drugs will do that. The cancer has spread and there is really nothing much that the doctors can do, aside from keeping him comfortable.
He is sooooo amazing, he has taken all of this so well and is being such a trooper. With all of the pokes and prods that he has had he is still worried about us and how we are doing.
He has aked for no visits at the point, he just isn't up to it, although I do tell him about all of the people that post here.
I didn't know if this was a good place to post this but we do get alot of calls and are rarely here to answer, So keep him in your Thoughts and Prayers and know that he has everything he needs. Thanks, Lisa

Hello everyone... I haven't posted anything till now, because I was actually at a loss for words.  I want you all to know, especially those I have already said this to that you are amazing!!!  The last few months have taught me that kidz are soooooooo strong and Acy loves looking at this web site to help heal her heart.  She is a lot like her daddy when she dreams her dreams.  We are all happy reading and seeing how much you all care about her daddy and uncle and can't thank you enough.  The Stephenson's have been through so much and we have to give them all the strength we can.

It has been a few long and hard months and I wish I could have been at the fundraiser.  I can offer all the help for the upcoming ones that is needed, just tell me what...

If anyone wants to tell Acy anything about her daddy or uncle please feel free to contact me.  I am trying to get as much as I can for her, so she always has part of him with her.  HORNS UP DANNY  We love you!!!

Thanks for posting that Lisa, you're at least reaching a lot of people at once here that care about Danny. Tim and Cort updated me yesterday about their visit, and I hope that Dan being drowsy and not awake a lot means he's not in that much pain anymore. He's more than just a friend to me and the one thing that is even more unbearable to me than the fear of losing him is knowing he's in a lot of pain. cry It's good to know they're doing everything to keep him comfortable... Hang in there guys...

Attrina, thank you too for your post, and hello to Acy! Would be great to have people email her, I will too!

Isn't it funny how you can get kind-of angry on someone who died. The other day I came across Dave's last email to me, it was from July already (he didn't mail after that so I figured he didn't want to talk about his cancer at that time). He told me he was going to get better and we'd see each other in a few months, no worries. Who would ever think that things can change so fast... I read that mail again and thought "so where were you eh you little liar! You didn't wait for us!" As if he wanted to go, geez!

Even though I felt a bit closer to Danny than to Dave, I certainly miss that guy so much as well....  cry

I honestly don't know what to say, I didn't know Danny at all and I had only met Dave a couple times. Everytime I saw him though we would have some pretty good conversations, mostly just joke around. He was a good guy.

Each day that passes I can't help but think about Dave and Danny. There have been so many times over the last 2 months that I wanted to tell or ask Dave something.

Dave was instrumental in convincing me to give the Suffocation/Hypocrisy/Decapitated show a chance. Quite often when I was offered a show I'd talk to Dave about it. He was a world of wisdom when it came to bands and life on the road. It was Dave who gave me some of the best advice when it comes to shows and for that I'll always be thankful. I know that he was at the show last Thursday, he wouldn't have missed it, he was looking too forward to it! I bet along with the rest of us he was holding the horns up high and feeling proud of the great turnout and show that it was! Something interesting happened the night before, I was at the Stephenson's and we were going through some boxes when a BWBK magazine (from 2000) was found, and on the cover was Hypocrisy, it was almost like it was meant to be found...Lisa brought the magazine to the show and it was signed by the band. I just know that both brothers have a grin ear to ear, probably even more so watching Lisa up front banging her head with the rest of us!

Today is a day I can't stop thinking about Dave! Thanks for always being there, being one of my biggest supporters, always there with kind words and encouragement! I miss you!!!

Happy Birthday Dave!

Last time I talked to Dave we had a fight, a co-worker of his had to break up the argument cause we were gettin ready to go at'er. The shitty thing about it was that it was over a fucking girl. He was goin out with my ex and blah-blah-blah. I seen him a gazillion times after that and although we remained civil to each other we were never as tight as we had been prior to that bitch. I met Dave and Heavy in the early 90's, they used to came see us play at Antillies, now the Distrik...or what ever gay name it's called now. That band was the pre-curser to Gods Last Name, thats how long ago that was. I cried when I heard he passed. I was extremely angry because we never patched shit up...you always think there will be time and you'll never forgive yourself when you realize there isn't.

I have a favor to ask of everyone:

As I already posted in several related threads, I've installed a gallery on the Band Of Brothers page and added the pics I already had. But we need more! So please, if you have any pics of DAVE, DANNY and/or the BENEFIT, please email them over (you'll be credited of course)! I'd appreciate it if you can add the date (or appr.) and place.

thank you!

David A. it has been 6 months today since you left us...I have thought about you from the moment I woke up this morning and I wonder what life would be like if you were still here with us. Today has been harder than most, maybe it is because I am slowly realizing that you are not coming back to us. I hope that all is well were you are and that you and Dan are taking care of each other.....Jaimie and I have been taking care of things down here......But I am sure that you know that. Hi everyone,
Happy Daddy Day DAVID,
We miss you & love you...
Just thought someone might see this and post something, good day.

This morning Acyan & I woke up and listenned to Jets to Brazil - All Things Good & Nice... We smiled and had fun talking about her daddy...

On Friday, Acyan came home from school with a card for her daddy... It read:

My Dad is very wonderful.
He is dear and thoughtful, too!
He is always finding little things, especially nice to do...
I wish him all the very best and if you are wondering why...
It is just because I love my DAD, he is my special guy.

Happy Fathers Day,
LOVE ACYAN

So, very cute. We decided this morning to make it a week of Daddy David, so all of you who have stuff to share begin...

Acyan & Attrina

P.S. Happy Daddy Day to all who have children & remember to love & cherish every second you have together...

Blessed Be

Dave its the 18th today and I am thinking about you still.  I miss hearing your voice..."Hey McLeod"... I guess we take it for granted that our pals will always be there for us.

I hope things are going well and I want you to know that we all are coping..barely at times...but we are going to make it.  The 21st is near and just wanted to post this so you know we all miss ya.

Take care and hold the fort for the rest of us....
