The Orchard is presently seeking a new singer. I know a lot of you will have questions as to why we are in this situation but out of respect for our previous singer this thread will not be about what happened.

We are looking for a mature vocalist to join us. Up until now we have been quite content with "death" style vocals but we're open to new sounds. We still like the growls and we wish for them to stay but with the melodic style of the band, we might be open to various types of clean vocals. We're all a fan of TOOL so we would be open to that style of vocals.

We're also opening this up to female vocalists as well.  Basically we have a rough idea of what we want but we are willing to expirament.

We have no shows booked as of now and we will be taking our time, making sure we have the right person.

Anyone interested can call or e-mail me. 352 3161 , benwinoski@hotmail.com

Well the Orchard is a great band and I'm sure the next front-person will only allow you guys to reach new heights--especially since you are wanting to experiment with cleans as well.

Can't wait to hear what happens.

I'd think that little Tyler with the dreads could step up to the plate.  He's got quite the lung capacity for a little guy.

no, but you'd have to leave right after you performed.
I know when Stillseed played at The State, they made Spud leave right after their set, but they let him play. I don't think they'd enforce the law on one hand and then make an exception on the other.. It's like a performer's license type of thing..

Also, you dont have to be of drinking age to work in a bar, only to serve alcohol or collect money for alcohlic beverages. Bands who are playing in a bar are theoreticaly working so yes, you as a minor can play bar shows.

I knew this wasn't going to be easy.......to find another singer but I thought there may be more people interested in this. We've had 2 people express interest. That's right, 2 people. I figured calling everyone pussys might actually motivate someone to step up and say "Hey, I can do that!" but nay.

We're still jamming and writing new tunes, taking our time as Jeff is away for a few weeks. Like before if you or someone you know is interested don't hesitate to get in touch with me.

you're probably only getting people who can actually sing contacting you..
haha.. I am more than a little interested in this, but sadly, I am blessed with a voice which is a cross between Nick Drake and Wendy O Williams...
and the tender throat of a tracheotomy patient. Does your vocalist usually write the lyrics?

Chester,

If you're interested, maye try it out. See how it feels, you never know. As for the lyrics part.......we're not picky as to what they are. The last vocalists we had wrote their own stuff. I don't even know what any of the lyrics in the songs are. I know a few lines but that's about it. We have no message or real meaning in our lyrics.

The Grapes Are Ripe!
The Grapes are Ripe!
Let's pick fruit in the orchard
at NIIIIIIIGGGGGGHHHHH TTTTTT
My feet are all covered in juice
From stomping the grapes
Stomping the grapes
Stomping your face
No one will hear your cry
Until they open a bottle of
WIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNEE EEEEE...

yes\no?

seriously though, I would need some lessons and balls before I could ever sing for anyone. I wish you luck in your quest.

It just so happens I give vocal and tough guy lessons. For $100/half hour I can teach you how to sing and then show you the ways of the cool. Testicular fortitude is my fortay.

FUCK YES!!!! I swear some lyrics try way to hard to be evil and shit. I'm pretty sure we can "heavy" that one up. I like the wine touch......we've been experimenting with alcohol-core so i think it would fit perfectly.

Keep the hits comming Chester!!!

This wine is kind of bloody
But red goes good with beef
This wine is kind of chunky
As I strain you through my teeth
Your living in a goblet
Right next to my fork
Before I kill your family............

Ernest & Julio's Thrill Kill Suite
i) Sudden Perishment and Melancholy Among Defleshed Grapes in the Haunted Orchard of Sorrow
ii) A "Good Year" to Die.

What I'm asking myself right now is why couldn't those be Orchard tunes?

Making someone into wine is a really good story as far as the Orchard theme goes. I really like the title for it too..... "a good year to die"

Man you could really take the pressure off a new vocalist for us. Like I said before, keep em comming Chester.

haha....I'll get out my pan flute and get started on melodies when I get home.......

Making someone into wine certainly has a Poe thing going for it.

If you find a new vocalist who thinks..hey those are cool...you won't need me man...getting him out on weekends might be a problem though...
