Is jacobin still missing a keyboardist? Havn't heard anything about these guys in months. Looking forward to the next show.

you may notice from the live photos (November 7th) submitted by Mr. Nasty that the NJC does indeed have a keyboard player, the night before in Saskatoon Lady Arkham also made a guest appearance for the piano part of Darkness Came to Stay. We will return to a more regular live schedule for western Canada in the Spring, although I'd like to point out we played in Saskatoon once every season this year, including an all-ages show in the spring. We'd like to have hit Regina, but the availability time frame of this show apparently didn't jive with anything.

and also...
The NJC has a new 4 song ep that was released to accompany this year's grand "Final Entertainment Show" stage spectacle. It is available only from the band as a fan club edition (limited to 300 copies), featuring 3 cover songs and a re-worked NJC standard from the late 90's. Contact us through facebook group or myspace to get one. We will be giving away a number of them by mail. That's a hint.

Official SSS DVD release of "The Final Entertainment Show" plus 12 years of NJC footage is in the works for summer 2009.

lots of things happening - new album is 90% finished - we also recently completed a 2 day shoot for a concept video that will accompany the title track.

PCP Productions posted a really cool set of stills from the video shoot here:
http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=181113&id=30195214199&ref=mf
....lots of well dressed young ladies

and here is a short video comp of the stage show we did in June that features a few nasty new acts and a couple new band members (yes...a 7 piece New Jacobin Club).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KW2iHwxVSpk

expect more disembowelling, more medieval weaponry, and more threat of personal injury on stage in October when we do our "Acts of Treason and Poor Taste" show to celebrate the release of "This Treason". Hopefully a couple different Saskatchewan dates will be in there

how the hell do you know that? I don't think we perfomed it live, unless it was a show where we were trying desperately to come up with "one more song" at the end of the night. We used to jam it out at band practice years ago when Vlad was still on lead guitar

It is I Mike, Eric Foster. Former Mother's work ed student you will remember me best as, or the fat dude who bothers you at work sometimes. Can't remember where/when we had the conversation. I made mention of how big of an Anthrax fan I am and you said that you guys had played Medusa in the past. I only remember because of how much ass I thought it would kick.

He moved to BC, but then had his phone and internet disconnected. I haven't heard from him in a while, dunno what he's up to now.

Also, looks like some awesome stuff up for download! If I wasn't such a fanboy/bandwhore that I already had all those songs, I'd download them right now!

www.newjacobinclub. bandcamp.com

this has been a pretty big task to get all our material up online, so if you appreciate it please share/embed your favourite NJC track either here or on your facebook page. we also have a new official facebook page, so look for it and hit "like" to stay in the loop!

Not sure anyone reads this anymore...but what the hell.

NJC has been running its own blogsite for a little while...some personal posts about the band, and some guest articles from internet shit disturbers that I know like this one - " Is Slayer Satanic? " and how to ba a Satanic Metal badass. haha.

http://www.newjacobinclubmusic.com/is-slayer-satanic-or-how-to-be-a-satanic-metal-badass-in-1987/

I'm sure we're going to get into all sorts of crap over this

hey - my profile pic is over 10 years old now!

Played a show with you guys at the German Club in Regina in October with Suffersurge and Hellhounds.  That show was deadly, too bad the attendance isn't what it should have been.  NJC is definitely a band worth paying attention to.  Catchy songs featuring monstrous riffing with melody and counterpoint provided by cello and keys.  Not a lot of crazy guitar solos but Poison Candy's wild theremin work more than makes up for that.  They prove that you can make dark music without singing love songs to Satan or about the joys of disemboweling the weak with rusty dinner implements.  Their studio recordings do not capture their beautifully macabre live show.  If they come back to Regina, definitely check them out - you won't be disappointed.
