Realized I hadn't put anything about our band up in this section.  Were from Regina, have played a few shows in town including the saskmetal.com benefit show.  Anyways, here are some links to check out what we're about, as I've said in other posts, not a metal band, but a few people here might like it.

thanks very much, I'm not saying that us being "not metal" is a bad thing, just giving people a heads up.  Thanks for being one of the 16 people to stick around though, we REALLY appreciate it.  It's hard enough starting your set at 12:45am, but it's even harder when the bar is empty.

i'm a bad person, i ditched out early, but i'm gonna come and check you guys out friday methinx.  keep doing your thing, cause you guys are a great band.  pound away, you'll get where you wanna go.  it's tough to be a rock band in this town, because the majority of people who listen to mainstream rock in this town won't go to shows unless someone famous is playing.  keep on keepin' on, you guys have something going for sure.  look forward to doing some shows with you in the near future.

thanks for the kind words all, we intend to keep at it, after this show on Friday we plan to work on a couple of the 5 new songs Mitch has sitting around waiting for us to get our shit together on it.  I don't blame anyone for ditching out Friday night, it was getting late, we were tired too.  We can't wait to play another show with the Stillseed boys too.

We are looking for a new drummer as ours is heading out to Ontario at the end of the month.  Check out our myspace at the top of the thread to hear some of our stuff, or come see our last show with our current drummer on August 18th at the Exchange.  If anyone's interested, you can get a hold of us either through myspace or our website, www.chemicalhorizon .ca

F.Y.I.  Just found out that the Wolf will be playing one of our songs on New at 9 tonight!  Pretty cool, didn't expect that to happen so soon.

Man...that's harsh.

Anyways...just wanted to say that I'm sorry I'm not going to be around to see you guys play on the 16th! Everyone should make sure to check out that show.

I'll be cheering you guys on...from a strip club in Tampa... so yes...cheers and such.

Wow, I had no idea we even had a section on here...

Just thought I'd give a heads up that we're playing a show March 30th at The Manhattan Room with Flatlined and Veiled Zodiac, $5 at the door, show starts at 9. I guess I should probably list that in the local events section but I'm not sure whether that's kosher since it isn't really a metal event per se.

Hmm tough call. I know I'm not going though. God, those crazy Chemical Horizon folks. Who do they think they are? Tongue.

It has nothing to do with the fact that I'm stuck in Saskatoon until April 27th...and for the duration of June...but after that...then I shall start coming to CH shows!

Hey...I bought the CD...leave me alone...*hides*.

Actually...do you guys still have shirts to sell?

Hey man, that's cool, the last thing you should do is feel guilty for having a life...however, I'm afraid I'm going to have to kill a puppy for every show you miss from now on.

I think we probably have shirts; maybe just PM Meat Dream (a.k.a. Chris) on here and ask him. He's the brains behind the operation.

Sounds like a plan Stan, errrr Todd.

As for the puppies...God is already killing kittens because of me, so I'm all right with the ritual animal slaughter.

Killing kittens has a better ring to it, what with the alliteration and everything...I'd just stick with that.

Verily enjoyed the acoustic set on Saturday.  I've seen a few bands take and try an acoustic set, and none quite like that one.  I remember when we did a Stillseed acoustic it was very half assed, but you guys looked much like you took the time to prepare this one.  Kudos to that!  Also, I'm pretty sure that was the first Chemical Horizon show I've seen with Todd in the band (shame on me), and the playing was most excellent.

Chris Fraser (vocals & guitar of Chemical Horizon) was taken to the hospital yesterday afternoon after overwhelming feelings of nausea and weakness. A CT scan revealed an abnormal mass on the back of his brain that was bleeding. Chris went through two surgeries last night to remove the tumor and to drain the blood on his brain. It will be 8-10 days before the doctors will find out if the tumor is cancerous or not, and regardless, Chris is looking at a lengthy stay in the hospital. Currently, only immediate family is allowed visitation.

Chris is a great friend to many of us, a talented musician, and one of the nicest guys I've ever had the pleasure of hanging out and jamming with. I ask everyone who reads this to keep Chris and his family in your thoughts as they endure this difficult time.

I was wondering whether to mention this yet or not, as I don't know what the wishes are of his fam.  This definitely belongs in the what made you sad thread, as it has hit us as much as I'm sure it has everyone else who has the pleasure of knowing him.

As said, please keep him and family in your thoughts, and wish/hope/pray for the best.  Chris is a stand up guy, this really fucking sucks.

I know Chris' family quite well, and his wife wanted to be sure the people who are close to Chris were aware of what is going on. I wasn't sure if anyone from Stillseed had heard the news yet, so I figured this would be an adequate place to notify.

Thanks for posting, I got the news through a vine starting from Mitch, but wasn't sure about passing it on.  Spud has obviously read this, though I don't know if Jamie or Jud know yet, Nick likely doesn't.  We'll be sure the news gets passed to them.

Yes, please do pass on this information to anyone who knows Chris, and you feel would care to know.  I get that that sounds pretty fucking stupid, but if there's anyone you think would like to know of Chris's situation, feel free to fill them in, or give them away to get ahold of myself personally, and I will explain it to him.

We appreciate all the kind words, and any support that has been offered.  Chris would be comforted to know that all you guys have his back.

Right now the doctors have Chris in a coma - and he will stay like that for the next week or so to help regulate his body temperature and blood pressure.  As for the tumor being cancerous - we still dont' know, as was written above.  It will probably be another week or so before we get any word on that.

All we know is that right now, Chris's body temp. and blood pressure are getting back to normal, and he will not be awake for the next 5 days or so.  We'll keep you guys updated whenever we can, and whenever we find anything out... Unless something comes up, or happens in the next few days, it's just a waiting game for another week or so.

We'll also let you know when visitors are allowed, as I'm sure some of you would like to see Chris, and I know he would appreciate any visitors.

It's weird to see Chris like this - but he's going to do fine.  Considering the situation, everything has been positive so far, and we hope it will continue to be that way.

Thanks again.

Mitch

Chris is a true friend and it's definitely a shock to me that a week ago we played a show and now suddenly he's in the hospital...it just seems so sudden. I know that he will persevere because of his inner strength and depth of character. It sounds like a cliche but I truly believe in him.

We have retired the name Chemical Horizon since founding member Chris was no longer able to continue singing due to his health. But we're releasing a four-song EP soon to commemorate a few songs Chris wrote with us when he was still in the band. Shayne Hawkens recorded Chris's vocal parts for the EP:

1. Staring Back at You
2. You're Wrong
3. Lost in Translation
4. Within a Second

We're continuing on under the name Room 333, so if you want to hear some of these songs live, we're playing the Exchange next Friday with In Darkness and the Rabid Whole.
