About
Director of Photography | Camera Operator | Steadicam Operator | Photographer
Description

"Mike Zimmer? I don't know who that is" ~ David Lynch

Mike Zimmer started working as a videographer over 10 years ago with a small corporate and wedding video company. Over the three years within that company, Mike used his excitement and determination to teach himself all the technical and creative skills needed to capture intriguing and eye-catching images. Since then Mike has become a well sought after documentary videographer.

Mike has had the opportunity to travel the world shooting various documentary series for broadcasters such as A&E, Discovery Channel, History Television, and SCN. Most recently he has been involved with Innovation Nation, a science documentary series that gives access to the people who make high science a reality: What inspires them? How do they bring their ideas to life?

Not only is Mike skilled in the documentary format, he has also been Director of Photography for two feature length dramas and a number of short films. He has even ventured over into reality-based television with the series The Re-Inventers which features a historian and an inventor who dig up original patent designs to build and test inventions from the past, such as the Chinese Rocket, the Roman Crane and da Vinciís Tank. Also been adapting his film skills over to include photography. This has granted him a unique advantage over most photographers out there.

Currently, Mike continues to advance his skills and pursue challenging and thought-provoking projects in order to boost his already vast experience.
