Anyone ever had it happen?  I fried my bro's ISP Decimator a few weeks ago (i just figured out that it was the pedal that was the problem right before our show a couple weeks ago), so I went out and bought myself one.  It's starting to do the same thing.  Obvoiusly something's up in my arrangement, I'm looking for some ideas.  My set up couldn't be simpler, I'm running a Planet Waves Cable out from my guitar, into the Decimator, then another PW from the Decimator to the amp.  The amp is spud's Bugerra 333XL.  I'm going into the "high gain" input and then from there out to his Randall 4x12 cab.  Essentially what the ISP is doing post-broken is causing static, switched on or off it doesn't matter.  As soon as it's in my signal chain, it's causing a problem.  Spud's WAS working fine for me for a couple months, only recently has it crapped out.  The new one I bought bit the dust immediately.  What the hell is happening?

I remember Dan had a similar issue with the ISP pedal. He just said fuck it and bought the rack mount version.

lol boner

Yeah the NS-2 is a quality pedal. It's what I use and as long as you're not facing your amp at <10 feet you'll get zero feedback.

I've been running my NS-2 problem free for probably a good 7-8 years now. The thing is fucking bullet proof. I've wanted to try an ISP for awhile now, because I hear it sucks your tone a lot less than the old NS-2, but hearing things like this makes me not want to bother.

This is the first I've heard of this.  My rackmount works very well and the decimator pedal also sounds great.  And Darren, don't be a pussy, try it!

The NS-2 isn't that bad on sucking tone away. It's worth it for the no noise/feedback.

Ive had both the NS-2 and ISP (never had rackmount) and I prefer the NS-2 by quite a bit.

It looks like we've got a beakshow going on here. A beakshow gone awry can lead to a tilly.

+1 instant classic. Good work.

Back to the topic, I played my rig at a jam the other day with no pedals or fx at all. Just guitar to head. Then last night all I added in was the NS-2. I mean, I'm sure the rackmount Hush or Decimator is pretty awesome, but even with my NS-2 threshold completely cranked, my tone didn't suffer. I have one of the older ones though, I don't know if there's a difference with the circuitry these days.

Only problem is it eats up some sustain, but for the most part just picking the note again does the trick. With metal, and solos and shit, I mean it all flies by so fast, who's really gonna notice subtle things like that?

It's either that or Pierre boots you in the chest when he's on stage. Just ask Dalton how that feels.

The whole thing about taking away sustain, there's a simple solution, if you want a note to carry longer and better, it IS a footswitch, switch it off.  I was never really worried about that because it's such a minor thing.
