Nirvana is still awesome.

I'll back you on this. I'll take a grunge heroin addict over rappers and popshit any day.

I think its good music...when I was growing up it was really important to me and it still is as I get older

music is all relative, well it should be...

its not the best music in the history of ever, but for its time and place it was huge for me, so I will always have a soft spot for Nirvana

its good shit if you ask me

Me too. I still have 'em on the Ipod, and they have genuinely good songs. I still sing along at the top of my lungs and love every second.

Anyone can say whatever they want about Nirvana, I love them, and have for over 16 years (holy fuck)...must be the hype, right?

Out of all of these early 90's acts, I gotta agree with whoever posted on the last page about Mother Love Bone.  They were probably my favorite act from this bunch of groups.  But I like all of it.  Don't listen to Nirvana anymore really, but the Nevermind thing came out when I was about 15, and I dug it then.  Overrated, I suppose, but one could do much worse.

TLO and Steph have spoken my opinion on the nirvana matter as well.  And I don't buy that Nirvana was the enemy of metal.  Nirvana was the enemy of glam rock, so called douchey 80's glam metal, bands like poison and motley crue etc.  I for one will gladly join any side that opposes that garbage.

My thoughts exactly.  That was what was "big" in metal at that time.   Thrash metal of the 80s like metallica and slayer etc, never had the cultural and MTV backing of that hair metal shit.   So when grunge changed gears that's what they were up against.   So I got no problem with that.  Also, I don't care so much about movement vs movement etc, I like it so I listen to it.   Regardless of genre and whose "enemy" it is.
