I've been lazy about putting us on the local band thread, but now I got somethin' kinda cool to post. Our first article in blabbermouth. woo hoo!

http://www.roadrun.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=39950

Yeah, that album is out now. Hopefully we'll play regina soon, and get some in stores.

That's awesome. I had seen your name on there before too. I think for the Whiplash festival or something. Play a show here again soon so I can get a copy.

Bower, we're workin' on it.

I'm gonna try at least get some put in stores.

What would be the best places for us to sell 'em through?

Plus, make sure you catch the world premiere radio show, I'm sure we'll have giveaways. Maybe you can win one?

Definitely X-ray. It's in the back of the Tiki Room. Dave's a great guy. That's really the only independent music store here now. There's a Tramps here you could try on Scarth street too maybe. Other than that I'm not too sure. Get a copy to Brendan Lumbsden (Super B) at CJTR. He does Kaos thursday nights and as far a I know people still tune in even though I'm not there anymore (haha).

Is there a CD Plus or HMV with a good metal section? or A&B sound?

It's all pro-pressed with a barcode and everything, so I think they'd sell it (they do in pa here).

A guy by the name of "Old School" Terry used to run the HMV in the Cornwall when the Roqstar used to work there. They built the metal section pretty good there.  I even bought Darkthrone cd's at that HMV-haha. I haven't been in there in years though so I have no idea what it's like. As far as I know CD Plus is done. I really only go to X-ray or A&B for cd's now. Maybe the A&B would let you sell it there???

HMV and A&B will most likely sell, though they might do consignment, I don't have numbers for you, I'd say just 411 it online, or just one second here....(one second)

A&B Sound - 569-4970
HMV Cornhole - 522-1186
HMV Southland - 585-0877

hey let me know how it works out for ya J, we're getting ours in in the next week or so here, and will be planning to do the same thing.

Holy fack. Not even X-RAY will do a consignment deal for me.

This is freakin' gay, I can't find anywhere to make our CDs available to you fine folk and folkettes.

Any more advice?

Woah. I don't know then if X-ray won't even take them??? You talked to Dave? Maybe the music shops here???  B-sharp and St. John's. There's a L&M but they can french-kiss my asshole. They're total dicks there and wouldn't even listen to you I bet.

are you serious that hmv and a&b wouldn't do it?  not even X-ray?  WTF???  Is there anyone in this city that gives a fuck about trying to help bands out here (and no disrespect to Dave, I know he's done more than i'll ever know for this scene, but this confuses me a little)?  Why the hell does it seem like you have to put your head through a brick wall to accomplish anything here?  There's a CD Plus in Medicine Hat ready to take some of ours, we've never even talked to them ourselves, my cousin just went in and asked.  This is frickin ridiculous.

seroiusly, wtf?

CD Plus stores everywhere have a wicked consignment deal.

Luckily there's a wicked cd plus in stoon with an awesome metal section.

Is there no cd plus at ALL in regina?

And yeah, dave said it's cause his shop isn't as big as it used to be.

Here's what you need to do:
A little trick I like to call ... "Manipulating The Manipulators".
- Call your friends or notify them of your situation online.
- Have them all go to each store that doesn't carry it & ask about it.
- Have them request that the store bring them in a copy.
- If that happens 5 times, many stores will make an effort to stock the product.
(HMV certainly will, so go to all of them & ask.)

Just make certain you call back a week later to talk to the manager about your product again.)

Props to the new album, I can't wait until it's in my hands.  You guys fucking rip, as I was mentioning in the saskmetal radio thread, it's bands like Cessate that keep clawing me into more brutal metal.  I'm not an insane metal conniseur by nature, and it's never the first on my playlist, it takes the right band to bring me into it.  You guys have immense talent, and your songs are arranged extremely well.  Very melodic, brutally heavy, and tight.  The recording sounded pretty good too, obviously on internet radio it's tough to judge sound quality, but i'm pretty sure it'll be pretty good.  seriously though, you guys are easily the premiere active unsigned metal band in Sask right now, bar none.

:> Yeah I remember that shit.

I don't recall anyone being too negative though, I just remember a good discussion about "covers vs. originals" and whatnot. But yeah, I think we proved our ability to write by now. I had almost forgotten about those days.

We had a blast in Winnipeg this weekend, and this farmkid festival called Rockfest, near Preeceville, SK. Signed more CDs yesterday in one day than I think i ever did in total. Good times! I think we got some good funny pictures, maybe I'll have to post them.

I had this crazy notion to maybe call up the head office of CD Plus and see if they could hook me up with every store across the country or something. Maybe even they could do all the legwork. I dunno. Probably totally unrealistic. But I figured maybe I'd see. Anyone ever try aything like that before?

And steph, thanks for postin'. I can't wait to see you guys on oct. 15! :>
